42 or 47 inch gaming hdtv?

I’m looking for a good 42 – 47 inch hdtv for my new apartment primarily for gaming (xbox360 and wii). Should I get an LCD or Plasma screen tv? I’m concerned about glare, and I don’t want any of that “hdtv lag” that some tvs have with guitar hero or amplitude. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also, it has to have a good refresh rate. I don’t want any ghosting.

Question about 42 inch+ hdtvs?

I just bought a 42″ sharp 1080p refurbished lcd hdtv. When I watch blu-rays on it.. it looks fuzzy to me. I am wondering.. if it is the tv for just me.. because I am not used to having tv’s this size. I am sitting around 5′ away from it. Is that the problem.. do you have to be further away because it is large, or do you think it is the tv? I had a 32″ vizio before this and I never thought it looked fuzzy..

thanks

42 inch Plasma, too small for Living room?

Alright, I had a 27inch regular tv by sharp, and it works for my living room. So I figure, maybe I should get a 37 inch TV, then for a $100 more I can get a 42 inch tv. So what the heck right? However, after viewing the 42 inches, they dont look as big as you may think. This of course is when they are displayed around several other tvs, but I got to thinkin is a 42 inch big enough for a living room? Its going into my basement, but its designed like a living room. Also, this Plasma has anti burn in tech, and is a 2008 model, not like the 2003 models or anything. It also has a white wash feature, to clear potential burn in pics. My main point though, is a 42 inch to small for a living room type setting. Normally I woulda said heck no, it would be big, but it just seems these widescreens are not as big looking as CRTs. I can upgrade to a 50 inch Samsung for $200.00 more, but for plasma I am getting a Panasonic( which in plasma world is better quality, like LCD for sharp ), and I could save the $200.00…lol.

Please help !! I’m bombarded with so many types of flat screen TVs plasma, LCD HD ready, Full HD….

I have PS3 and would like to watch HD movies on it but mainly will be watching standard definition Sky TV.. so i need a tv that can show HD but also shows standard def without looking rubbish !! Your advice would be much appreciated .. cheers

Sharp 42″ AQUOS® LCD HDTV (LC-42D62U)

it doesnt matter if its LCD or Plasma… I saw one of wal-marts deals and they had a 50 inch plasma hdtv 1080p for 798… can anyone find one like this or lower?

I Bought this Tv December 2006. It is a 56 inch DLP tv made by samsung. 1080p with hdmi. I am actually using it as my computer monitor right now to type this. lol. um ok I used to have it in my living room and could see it fine playing Call of Duty on ps3 using hdmi cable. about a year ago I bought a 42 inch lcd samsung and put it in the bedroom. It is fine. So now the other day it was pretty sunny and i tried playing call of duty mw2 but i could barely see the screen. So I switched the tvs around and now i have this 56 in the bedroom. the tv is so dim i have to hang blankets on my windows with tacks just to see the screen. it is crispy but very dim. I went into settings and turned on dynamic. i have as far as i know the brightest it gets, but it just seems like its alot dimmer than when i bought it. What would make a tv do this. could my bulb be going?? or the ballast? How can I test It. my tv has a lamp code on the side of it that says LAMP CODE BP96-01795A(P132W) and for the model number it is HL – T5676S and model code is HLT5676SX/XAA THANKS ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Will a 24 inch HD LCD T.V. work good with my PS3?

Would I be able to get the PS3 full potential on this size and type of T.V.? If not will a 42 inch plasma HDTV be better? My dad doesn’t really like me hooking up my game systems on that TV though.

Is this Olevia 42 inch 1080p worth it?

Recently I purchased a 42 inch sylvania 1080p at black friday but am unhappy with it and found out I can return it to the store without paying a restocking fee. I’m currently looking for a better one and saw this:
http://www.target.com/Olevia-42-1080p-LCD-TV/dp/B001E0E5YW/sr=1-6/qid=1228283193/ref=sr_1_6/190-1716146-7220347?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Aolevia&page=1

It has a “big picture” mode which makes the picture bigger by like 10%. Anyone know about these tvs or have one?

What brand and type of 42 inch TV should I buy?

From the research I’ve done so far, it seems like for screens 42 inches and under, LCD is the way to go. Please give the pros and cons of LCD and plasma screens. My wife really like the image quality of the Samsungs she’s seen. Any advice on a good brand/model?

Thanks in advance! I will pick a best answer, so please be as detailed as you can.
I know the progressive scans are superior to the interlaced, but I’m not sure on the difference between 1080 and 720. From what I’ve read, for a 42 inch screen, 720 is adequate (I’ve actually heard superior). Advice on this would be appreciated, as well.
