LVM-42w2 42-inch 1080p LCD Monitor help?

I just bought this tv. It doesn’t come with built-in tuners. I cannot afford “digital” cable. What is my best option to utilize this tv without spending an arm and a leg. I saw the KWorld 1600 LCD TV Box TV Tuner ( VGA NTSC ) – KW-TV1600R as an option, however it only goes up to 1600 x 1200 while the tv goes up to1920 x 1080. Will this pose a problem?

Thank you in advance.

okay only on of them does this: but when the screen is black or just dark 2ss thick purple horizontal lines crawl slowly upwards can I fix this or is it permanent? clue: a black-light is behind the TV does that have anything to do with it? I’m thinking of taking this TV back.

I turn my television on, but nothing shows up on the screen! It just wigged out while I was playing a video game and now when I turn it on, there is no picture, no sound, no nothing! The background just lights up. When I press the menu button on the remote, the menu won’t even show up. What could be wrong, and how can I fix this?

Thanks!!!!

ok like i got it on impluse…my friend had one without a stand and it fell and broke lol!!!

so where can i get a stand so it can stand up properly….i tried googling it and i cant find any!!!!

When you go out looking for the best LCD HDTV, you need to consider this a s being an activity that is more of an art rather than an out and out purchase, because when the first LCD TV hit the market, it was only available in small size, though now it is available in sizes up to even fifty inches in diameter, which makes it all the more necessary to learn about which one to buy and which to ignore. Furthermore, whether you are buying a large screen or one with a small screen, each type will have certain flaws in them.
No Flaws, Or One With Least Number Of Flaws
Thus, the best LCD HDTV would obviously be one that does not have any of these flaws, or the least number of them such as things like not having low contrast ratios, slow refresh rates as well as not wide enough angle of viewing. However, you can easily determine which the best LCD HDTV is if you take simple precautions before buying one, especially by choosing from among big brand names such as Sony, Panasonic, LG, Samsung and Philips as well as Sharp. In fact, you could even include other big names such as computer monitor makers like Gateway and Dell that have also entered into the fray of selling such TVs.
However, the best LCD HDTV need not necessarily be from among the big brand names, since most of these big companies buy their components from small companies, many of them from other countries, which will thus have a direct bearing on the quality of the TV, which means that you need to enquire about this aspect as well before you put your money down on a particular brand.
Nevertheless, there is certainly one thing that will help you decide which the best LCD HDTV is and that is the aspect ratio, which in some TVs (widescreen) are as high as 16 to 9, though beware that some manufacturers may actually simply be stretching the image so that it fits the screen which in turn will result in jagged as well as washed out images. However, the best HD TV will be sure to retain resolution despite the image being stretched and so you need to closely scrutinize the image on the screen to judge this important feature.
Another important feature that can help decide which the best LCD HDTV is, is the angle of viewing, since due to the technology used in making these monitors, sometimes the image becomes invisible from obtuse angles. Still, today contemporary LCD TVs are able to resolve this problem by providing visibility from even as obtuse an angle as 160 degrees.
Lastly, you need to determine which variety of TV suits you the best and decide from among standard definition, enhanced definition as well as from high definition, though you can be sure that the best HDTV would more often than not be one that is of the high definition variety.

42 Inch Lcd Tv & Gtx 280 Compatiblity(need Help)?

I have a DAYTEK 42 inch LCD tv, it says it’s supportive with FULL HD 1920×1080. Along with that, I have geforce gtx280 card.
What I want is use this LCD tv as a computer monitor and I have been using it. My problem is, I want to use it at its full capability. I mean, I can get good screen at almost every resolutions even including 1920×1200, but not 1920X1080. When I set it up, the window screen goes out of the actual TV screen. you know what I mean? Not everything is seen on the tv screen cause some part of it is out of boundry which is one of reasons why I pose here to get some good answers to solve this.
just to mention, my graphic card does support 1920×1080 since I used to use acer 24 inch monitor and I got perfect 1920×1080 resolution at that time. Also, I’ve got the latest version of driver for it from nvidia.
Another problem I have is is that, I really can’t get this, when I play games, all the games that absolutely support 1920×1080 resolution, only available resolutions up to 1600×1200. All the games I tried, Dead Space, Devil May Cry 4, BioHazard 4, Silent Hill 5, etc.. I mean, I really don’t know what the problem is. when I go to each game’s video option, it doesn’t even show any resolution bigger than 1600×1200, not even shown a gray colored letters. But when I had 24 inchs monitor, I definetely was able to get 1920×1080 perfect screen.
Is this my 42 inch lcd TV problem? Or is it because of what? maybe because I use VGA connector? But first, this tv’s spec obviously says it supports 1920×1080, so it must not be a tv’s fault. about this VGA connector, the reason I’ve been using this is because I first tried HDMI(monster, from Walmart) didn’t work at all. I mean my TV didn’t even show NOTHING on its screen even when it was connected with GTX280 graphic card with HDMI cable. I tired every single possible way,(by the way, this TV has 3 hdmi ports and all supporable)(My graphic card also has hdmi port and supportable, it worked before with 24 inch lcd monitor), that’s why I just tried this vga cable and it actually worked. at least, it got the signal and showed my window. Just I want to use my tv 1920×1080 cause it’s gotta be the best resolution.
so two my questions are, How can I solve out-stretched screen problem?(the latest graphic driver has some option but only for moving the screen horizontally and vertically, not making it bigger or smaller),,and second, How can I make 1920×1080 resolution avaiiable on all those kinda new games?
thank you
