I got a hp 42 inch LCD HDTV FOR 1000 dollars from best buy. Is that a good buy for that tv? Are they good tv?

What brand, what model?
Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Depends on what brand, quality the TV is. About a year ago, you could only get rear projection HDTV’s in that size for $1000.
See the link for current on-line HP TV prices (you don’t state model) … almost all are selling for more than $1000, so unless you have the one that sells for just under that, you have a deal.
As to quality, HP is a name brand electronics company, although they are not particularly know for their TVs. The only review of an HP LCD model on CNet gave it a 5.6/10 rating. See the 2nd link.
