How Do I Get My P.c Picture On My 42 Inch Hdtv To Look Right?

I have a Goodmans 42 inch HDTV and it has a P.C connected to it.
For some reason the picture on itunes and other movie players seems to be stretched and wide,i have gone to monitor type and my t.v make isn’t listed it is connected with a proper wire and my normal t.v picture is fine. ??? any help would be greatly appreciated… thanks.

This is a question of resolution, playback, and proprietary software. You need to investigate these settings and hopefully you will be able to get it ironed out.
Keep in mind your TV is 16:9 aspect ratio.
