Well i have a 32 inch lcd 720p poloroid tv. I want to upgrade. My choices are a plasma 50 inch samsung 720p or 42 inch lcd poloroid 1080p. the difference in price is around $200. am i going to be happy with a 8 inch difference for 1080p or is it worth it to get the 50 inch that’s only 720p?
I mostly would use this tv for video gaming and i sit about 6.5 feet away. i could get as far back as 17 feet. I really would like the 50 inch. because paying 600$ just for a 10 inch difference doesn’t seem worth it

tv is 2 y/o it was intermittently shutting off for approx 2 weeks but would come back on right away. now it has gone off and will not come back on. the only sign of life now is the blue standby light. please help! i do have some technical skills but no knowledge of televisions so if someone could walk me through the repair i would appreciate it greatly. thanks for reading this. and happy holidays to all!

Vizio VW42LF 42″ 1080p LCD HDTV

I tried to connect my PC to my Acer LCD via s-video card, I can only get 576i even thought my Acer support 1366×768 resolution. Is it because the maximum resolution of my graphic card is 1024×768 or the s-video cable can only support 576i. Should I upgrade my graphic card or use the dvi to hdmi cable?

Another thing is when I’m watching movies with my DVD player, I can only get 576i, is there any way that I can get the best resolution which my LCD TV support?
